- mother of three who LOVES to stitch...every free moment...isn't much lately, but I try, even if I sit alone in the closet with a flashlight.......
Here's Gramie and Pop's present....I love the way it came out.....
I have been on a crochet binge.....I made these for my Grandmother and Brother-in-Law.... they're a quick stitch and are called "lapghans" so they are a lot longer than wide...to cover-up in front of the TV...... the brown is an awesome chenille...so cozy! The yellow is just plain old yarn...I ran out of creativity!! BTW...that's my Sammy in the top corner gettin' his sniff on......
I have been surfing around the web FOREVER...I have stumbled across so many blogs..there must be like 100000 in stitching only...everytime I find one, I link to another one...and each one is better than the next... I a still laughing at my all tme favorite...it's called.... are you ready.... FLOSS LICKER OMG...that is the absolute best name for xs blog I have heard.....I've seen "Stitch Bitch" "Twisted Stitcher"...and every possible play on words with cross stitch....this is simply, by far, my favorite. my name is stupid, by comparison....it was a weak moment.... my url is for my baby girl...she's the "hootie-hoot"....an evolution from "Hoochie-momma" long story...... I'm trying to join a round robin.....I think it's a fantastic idea....all different people working on one piece and then displaying......if anyone knows anywhere....."The Twisted Stitcher" helped out tremendously, directing me to Yuku.......
OK...I just got this pattern, it's a present for my one, and probably only, loyal reader.......there are 12 different colors that I used so far...do they all look beige to you???...ummmm..nope...just 8 differenct beiges.... This is absolutely spectacular when it's completed....the opalescence linen absolutely makes it......I will continue to post as long as you cannot figure out the design... I LOVE this....I cry everytime I look at the picture.....I hope she likes it........ if not, it goes up on ebay...NEVER
All Dogs Go to Heaven "Do dogs go to heaven?" my little girl said."Of course," I replied, as I tucked her in bed. "How could something so precious not be up above, Returned to the Father on wings of your love." "Will I see Sophie again?" she asked with a yawn. "She's waiting for you, just as sure as the dawn. To play catch with you on a soft green lawn, then rest by your side 'til the day is gone." "Will Sophie know who I am, because I won't look the same? Will she come to me, Mom, when I call her name?" "I know she will, and I'll tell you why. The love that you shared will never die." "So rest now my child, and know that it's true, when you think of Sophie, she's here with you." In Loving Memory "Sophie" May 25, 1997 to October 20, 2008
I couln't resist these....so do you see a common theme in my stitching??? ?the simplicity of the wording really caught my eye...I had to get these...... This one was HYSTERICAL...Danielle and I had quite a chuckle over this....OMG...I can just see giving it to my mom....what I would hear next....I decided I am making it for Rachel...she's aprreciate it one day and I can take a joke.....
OK...we (me and my sister-in-law Danielle, yep, another Danielle) went to the "Stitching Jubilee"....OMG...talk about over STIMULATION....I didn't know what to get first ......We spent FOUR yes F O U R hours wandering around.....I felt like an admirer in a museum...but we got to buy stuff!!!!!! People are so very talented and it inspires me to to try anything.....here's a few goodies... this is one that caught my eye.... Danielle found this one for me to do for my Girlfriend, Donna.... Some Huck towels...I like to do these for gifts.... Of course a "doggie" one...how cute! some freebies and material for my Lizzie Kate project I bought a $5 "linen grab bag....8 pieces...NICE SIZED PIECES!!! I think I got material for Every project now!!!! that was a steal.......
This I am making for my sister....I bought this yarn for someone else and didn't lke it...but my sister did...I think the varigated is too light to complete the final star..... I think it's ok...I want to do it in darker colors.... Here's the pattern...... I LOVED it ans HAD to have it...I got it on Ebay for $18.00...it's from th e'80's and out of print...here http://www.anniesattic.com brought it back because it's so popular...yep for $5.99!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Oh dear lord
This is for my niece, she's a dancer...HipHop and Jazz....I'm doing it like the Audrey Hepburn...in all black... This is the other "Footprints" sampler I started.....
This is what started this "footprints" craze...I made this 10 years ago for my sister...I'm 10 stitches off and every time I pick it up to finish it...I get sick! I have completed one other pattern that I hate and I started the one above as well as ordered another pattern!!!!
I'm going get this done...just have to walk away every once in a while.....
****I just notice the "french knots"...OMG...I remember being soooo nrevous that they wouldn't show....I think I wrapped the needle like 8 times!!! They look like a 13 year old made them!
Update on my huck towel....coming along nicely, if I do say so myself.... "Row of Dogs" by Bothy Threads....LOVE IT!!!....for my daughter Had to break down and buy it!...I'm starting with October "Zoombies" Found another "Footrints" pattern...I absolutely HATE the other that I made....ding, ding .....here's round three.......ugh
For my sister-in law for Christmas....still have to add the olive to the glass, but won't until it's framed..... For my Frankie Joe.... completed on 25 count silk...OMG....continential stitch...talk about blinding!....it's from http://www.gittas.com/ the Eskimos...I have two more to do. I have to purchased at the jubilee this October... For my best friend from 7th grade for Christmas..... This is a special one...my Sophie, Italian Greyhound, she was diagnosed with Lung Cancer this May and is still holdin' on! My hubby always calls her "Princess and the Pea" because it takes five turn-arounds before she sits!
